Following a nationwide poll conducted by one of Europe’s leading golf websites, Modry Las Golf Club has been named Poland’s best golf course. Already part of Golf World’s top 100 European golf courses, this is the second time the Gary Player layout has picked up the prestigious award since it officially opened in 2009.

The beautiful West Pomeranian course secured the top spot after a remarkable show of support on the website Polishgolf.pl which resulted in 17% of votes cast going to Modry Las. To put this into context, out of the 15 other courses shortlisted the closest contender received 12% of the votes.

“It is a great honour to pick up this award for the second time in our club’s short but hugely rewarding history,” said Arthur Gromadzki, chairman of Modry Las Golf Club. “We are fortunate and delighted to have received a number of awards, but to be voted once again as Poland’s finest course with such overwhelming support makes it all the more special. We are very proud.”

One of the clubs other recent accolades was to be included in Rolex’s rundown of the World’s Top 1000 courses. What’s more, Poland’s top golf resort has recently completed a series of phased developments which will further improve the golfing experience for both its members and visitors. The improvements include the introduction of a specially designed golf academy as well as the opening of three stylish Swiss-designed self-catering cottages.

“We have been careful to progress the club at a manageable pace,” Gromadzki explained. “The objective has been to build up support by developing our home-grown membership and increasing our international visitors. These latest improvements are part of the overall plan to create an international golf resort centred on Gary Player’s superb design. It is therefore gratifying to see our work being recognised in this way.”

Founder of Polishgolf.pl Roman Fedorczuk said Modry Las was a deserved winner of Poland’s top award. “Modry Las golf course, in my opinion, is one of the best in Europe,” he suggested. “Well placed in beautiful surroundings, it is challenging enough to make you want to go back and play it again.”

Modry Las Golf Club officially opened its doors four years ago. Since then it has become widely recognised as the most beautiful course in Poland. These latest developments are designed to complement what is fast becoming one of Europe’s most sought-after golfing experiences.
