One of Europe’s leading golf resorts will become the latest high-profile golf course to join a select group of properties to be digitally recreated in remarkable detail. Modry Las Golf Resort – The PGA National Poland will join some of the world’s most prestigious golf venues, including 2023 Ryder cup host Marco Simone, Pebble Beach and Wentworth, when it is recreated via Trackman’s hyper-realistic Virtual Golf 3 technology.
Being one of only a select number of courses to be captured in this way means golfers from around the world will have the opportunity to play the celebrated Gary Player-designed course virtually for the first time. The new technology will capture the seven-times World Golf Awards winner in stunning detail including its lake-side greens, steep-faced bunkers and meandering fairways for which the course is renowned.
As Poland’s only signature course, Modry Las was the ideal candidate for Trackman’s VG3 roll-out. “Due to its importance in the market, Modry Las Golf Resort was chosen to be the first course in central eastern Europe to be built and launched in full VG3 graphics,” explained Thomas Erik Bosco, Trackman’s sales director for South and East Europe. “Thanks to its timeless design, beautiful surroundings and challenging layout, we thought it deserved to be the first in the region to be introduced into the library as a VG3 course.”
With new levels of immersive gameplay and visual fidelity, the introduction of Trackman’s VG3 technology has been carefully curated to feature the world’s best golf courses and experiences. As Bosco explained, Modry Las fitted right in.
“Modry Las is The PGA National in Poland,” he explained. “Only one of these is selected to have this title per country. This makes Modry Las a very relevant course for Trackman’s VG3.”
The process of creating a VG3 course involves scanning every inch of the actual course, including all the nuances, undulations, trees and waterways, to build the ultimate playing experience. The VG3 version of Modry Las is due to be released via the Trackman public library at the start of the golfing season.
“The timing couldn’t be better,” said Arthur Gromadzki, chairman of Modry Las. “The excitement that surrounds golf at this time of year is infectious, so it’s fantastic that golfers from around the world will be able to tee it up and take on Gary Player’s stunning design. The level of detail the Trackman team has been able to capture is remarkable. It is pin-point accurate, and it’s a huge
technological step-up from what has come before. It is a privilege to be among the first courses to be recognised in this way.”
All the courses in Trackman’s Virtual Golf Library will be converted to the new high-definition graphics made possible by the VG3 engine. Currently only 22 have been upgraded although that tally is set to grow. The inclusion of Modry Las Golf Resort reflects the growing praise for the Polish course most recently exemplified by its inclusion in Golf World’s 2024 list of Best Value Courses in Continental Europe.
“Modry Las has always strived to be an international golf resort that appeals to experienced players and those new to the sport,” explained Gromadzki. “To do this, we have adopted a methodology of bringing world-class facilities and service together with an award-winning golf course that is available to all. The recent accolades combined with our inclusion in the Trackman VG3 technology illustrates how we combine these two worlds.”
